Round the Moon (Autour de la Lune) is considered one of the first science fiction novels to accurately depict space travel and even predicted the concept of “trans-lunar injection,” which refers to placing a spacecraft on a trajectory towards the Moon.
Jules Verne's depiction of a moon mission was remarkably prescient, predicting some aspects of NASA's Apollo program over a century before it happened, including the launch site in Florida and the use of a spacecraft splashdown upon return.
